Colo Consolidation: Fortune, Infomart Merge

October 7th, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

We had a bit of consolidation in the data center space this morning. The west coast’s Fortune Data Centers and Dallas’s Infomart have announced a merger. The combined company will be known as Infomart Data Centers, with some 2.2M square feet of data center and office space under its roofs.

dallasinfomartFortune operated facilities in Silicon Valley and Portland, while Infomart’s facility at 1950 N. Stemmons Freeway is one of the city’s key bandwidth hubs. But the other news is that those three locations will soon be joined by a new facility in Northern Virginia’s data center hub of Ashburn. That will give them the basics of a nationwide presence to build off of going forward.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but both companies were (and still are) owned by ASB Real Estate Fund.  The combined company will be led by Fortune’s John Sheputis.  Data Center Knowledge has a bit more detail on the deal.
