Here’s a quick rundown of some of the other news the industry started the week with:

MRV had some good news this morning out of the Netherlands. i3D is deploying their optical transport platform to boost international network capacity, with up to 400Gbps to Amsterdam. i3D operates network infrastructure across 16 data centers on six continents, supporting 8,000 servers aimed at the gaming and corporate managed hosting communities.

tw telecom’s national network expansion made it to Fort Lauderdale yesterday. With a month or three left before it becomes part of Level 3, tw telecom sure doesn’t seem to be taking a breather. They’ll be expanding services into the Cypress Creek corridor, several miles to the south, west, and east of the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and a growing home to corporate offices.

Out in Utah, C7 Data Centers is expanding its cloud services portfolio. They’ve implemented Actifio’s copy data virtualization platform to complement their backup and disaster recovery offerings. C7 has a new facility out in Bluffdale whose space it is marketing to the enterprise market.

Infinera found some new MSO business over in Russia this week. Akado Telecom is upgrading its Moscow-based network backbone to 100Gbps via the DTN-X, boosting its overall capacity by a factor of four. Akado has 18,000km of fiber hooking up its residential broadband, voice, and cable TV markets.
