TGIF, but before you go here’s a set of quick takes on a few other interesting items from this week:

In New York City, Transbeam picked up a connectivity deal across the East River. They’ve been chosen as the exclusive provider of both wired and wireless connectivity at the new Brooklyn EXPO Center. Event connectivity is one of Transbeam’s specialties, so this is their bread and butter.

Unite Private Networks continued to rack up its educational vertical wins in Nebraska. This week they announced a WAN agreement with the Omaha Public Schools, which will see a 73 mile fiber network hooking up 96 facilities. Construction is already underway, and should be complete next July.

Integra has expanded its network into eight Telx data centers across the country. The locations include seven facilities within the network operators’s western regional footprint, plus 111 8th Ave in New York City. It’s all part of Integra’s ongoing shift in focus to larger customers and data center connectivity.

And Equinix has won over another major network provider to its nascent cloud exchange. Orange Business has joined the exchange, and will be offering its Business VPN solutions in selected IBXs on three continents. They’ll be using it to hook up their customers to both their own cloud services and to those of third parties.
