Here’s a quick look at this week’s news from the colo and cloud side of things:

Windstream’s Hosted Solutions division has opened its fourth data center down in Charlotte. The new facility starts out with 10,380 square feet of raised floor space out of 39,300 total, with expansion plans for 20,500 and 60,800, respectively. Windstream has 27 data centers around the country now, but North Carolina is clearly one of their main cloud nodes.

Viawest has a new colo and cloud partner, as they are teaming up with Tech Data. The partnership will put Viawest’s data center and cloud offerings into Tech Data’s portfolio and out to its channel of solution providers.

Out in Kansas City, 1102 Grand has a new fiber tenant. tw telecom has expanded into the 26-story facility, bringing its Ethernet and IP VPN solutions along with it. It’s not a new market for tw telecom of course, as 18 months ago they expanded from the old Xspedius footprint with new loops in the central business district and north of the Missouri.

And over in London Interxion also has a new network tenant. NTT Communications has moved into their City of London campus and opened a PoP. The expansion will bring NTT’s network closer to the financial district, where it will be marketing its low latency connectivity to Asian markets amongst other things.
