CenturyLink Technology Solutions has turned to IO to help expand its colocation footprint in Arizona. They’re using IO’s Intelligent Control in initial deployments at each of IO’s Phoenix and Scottsdale facilities, which means both IO’s modules and its data center operating system.
CenturyLink itself has always been big in Phoenix in terms of telecommunications and networks of course, but Savvis hadn’t been there yet. Expanding via the modular way will let them hit the ground running with up to 9Mw of capacity to sell to customers.
Last week it would have been six letters of Savvis, but with the rebranding the name on the door will be a much larger 30 character mouthful that we’re going to have to find some shorthand for before folks like me tire of typing it all. CTLTS? CenturyLinkTS? Hmmm….
For its part, IO has spent several years now evangelizing its modular platform and OS, trying to expand in a way far different from the REITS out there building out ever-more-epic amounts of raw square footage. Having CenturyLink Technology Solutions on board will help them keep the momentum building.

Just as Fortinet co-branded with IO in Denver, it sounds like CenturyLink is co-branding with IO in Phoenix and Scottsdale. I wonder who will co-brand with IO for their centers in OH, NJ, and SG?
