Peak Taps Telx For Cloud Expansion

December 5th, 2013 by · 3 Comments

Peak, which shortened its name from PeakColo over the summer, is partnering with Telx in order to expand rapidly into two new markets. They’re deploying cloud nodes in Telx’s SCL2 facility in Santa Clara and its ATL1 facility in Atlanta.

Peak specializes in cloud computing infrastructure, but solely through the channel rather than direct sales. Hooking into the Telx interconnection ecosystem is a good way for them to offer extensive connectivity to the VARs and agents that take their cloud to the enterprise market.

In addition, Peak and Telx will be coordinating their efforts from here, bundling cloud connectivity, managed services, and colocation for the combined ecosystem. These two new nodes will be available next month, with additional nodes planned elsewhere within Telx’s footprint.

We interviewed Peak’s CEO, Luke Norris, here on Telecom Ramblings over the summer, offering a very detailed look at how Peak is taking its model to new markets. Working closely with established data center operators has been a key piece of that, and with its interconnection focus Telx is probably an even better fit.
