South Carolina Taps Level 3 For Conferencing

August 21st, 2013 by · 4 Comments

The state of South Carolina has awarded a five year contract to Level 3 Communications (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings). The deal will supply web and audio conferencing to government organizations across the state, improving the efficiency of the bureaucracy through collaboration.

For Level 3 this seems like a promising fusion of products from the former Global Crossing and the government markets group Level 3 has worked so hard to put in place for 5+ years. A single state government contract won’t move the needle on its own, but what Level 3 needs in North America right now is some real sales momentum — so every little bit helps.

Recent rumors out of Europe have confirmed that the company is one of those taking a close look at GTS Central Europe. But it’s far from clear yet that any deal will happen there, let alone whether Level 3 would prevail over the likes of DT or Netia in a bidding war. From what I hear, however, it’s not the only opportunity they’re sniffing around in Europe this summer.

I seriously doubt this will replace the OVER $2 Million / per month losing the ?? contract…

they have solution for replacing revenue, Level 3 will be having a very significant layoff in near future and have been laying people off over the last 2 months in large volume. Cant speak for sales organic growth and steadt revenue increases but they have a solution for FCF this year. Unfortunatly it will come from the blood of manay long time employees and possiby may be a one tim event.
