TW Telecom (NASDAQ:TWTC, news, filings) is now helping enterprises themselves join the 100G revolution in the metro. They’ve expanded their Business Ethernet services to include both metro 40G and 100G across 75 markets.
Of course, their mid-market enterprise customers aren’t often going to be using that sort of bandwidth. However, tw telecom has been aiming more and more at the large enterprise market, and this will give them the firepower to go after the financial vertical and other sectors where big data is increasingly the order of the day.
It’s also another piece of their Constellation platform evolution, which will be ongoing throughout this year.
