Time for some quick catch-up in the colo space, with items from Cologix, 6DG, CyrusOne, Digital Realty, and Equinix:

Omega ATS has selected Cologix’s new Toronto facility at 905 King Street West for an expansion. They’ll be taking advantage of the downtown location and low latency connectivity to 151 Front Street to serve the financial trading community. They’ve already got a big presence at 151 Front.

In London, Six Degrees Group got a bit bigger today. They have acquired BIS, giving them a data center location in Central London to go with their existing presence further out from the center of town. The deal adds £16 to the revenue line, taking 6DG’s overall run rate up to some £70M.

As promised, CyrusOne has launched its Texas Internet Exchange. The IX spans data centers in Texas Triangle cities of Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Last month they announced that the gear underlying this project included Infinera’s DTN, and apparently Brocade’s Ethernet switches are the other part of the equation.

Delta Air Lines has finished a second sale/leaseback transaction with Digital Realty Trust. Digital Realty will be taking over the 329,000 square foot data center on 39 acres of land for the air carrier for $37M. Delta has signed an 8 year triple net lease as Digital Realty’s inventory of data centers grows once again. Meanwhile, Digital Realty also released the results of an APAC demand survey. Apparently 83% of respondents in the region are planning to expand their data centers this year or next – the train isn’t slowing down yet it seems.

And finally, Priceline has been leveraging Equinix’s marketplace to improve its response time and scaling. They’re now deployed at Equinix’s DC6 in Ashburn, reducing server count by 40% and power by 50%, and they’re moving into the new IBX in Slough over in the UK. That’ll free up some more resources to pay William Shatner for some more commercials.
